The Storm

'The Storm' interactive stage set design for the Literacy Pirates; Stratford, London, 2019.  A collaborative research-informed real-life project was developed between UEL and the Literacy Pirates (former Hackney Pirates), a charity organization that supports children in reading and writing through playful educational after-school workshops. The design team, involving UEL students, and led by Anastasia Karandinou, explored how the bodily immersion within an interactive environment makes the children more engaged with the learning process, through triggering their creativity, confidence and desire for expression.
